Girwood, Alaska is a beautiful ski resort town located 45 minutes driving time from Anchorage. The town has its own airport offering sightseeing tours by plane or helicopter. There is plenty of hiking and mountain biking in the summer and skiing in the winter. A ride up the tramway to the top of the ski resort rewards you with views of glaciers while you dine. Meadows are full of wildlife including the occasional moose.
