Of all the cities in Italy, Rome was perhaps my favorite. Typically I prefer smaller, less busy places but the history of this place overshadowed any desire to go elsewhere. The sheer number of ancient sites is enough to keep a person busy for days, even a week. I spent nearly four days of this trip in Rome and still didn't see everything I wanted to.
