As the "big city" of Ireland, Dublin has mostly the same type of things to see and do as smaller cities but more of them. To really see Ireland you need to get out of Dublin and into the smaller towns. There is some good shopping and restaurants in the Grafton Street area near the town center. Traffic can be horrendous at times by Irish standards.
