Ballyvaughan is a great place to stop for lunch if traveling along the coast in this area. There are good seafood restaurants although when we tried to eat, most of the town was run out of food from a wave of tour busses! At the edge of town is Aillwee Cave which is the largest in Ireland. If you have been to a really impressive cave before then skip this one to avoid disappointment. It's pretty typical as far as caves go and low on splendor.
