Cairns, pronounced like "cans" (crazy Aussies!) is located on the Northeastern coast of Australia, near the Great Barrier Reef. It's a beautiful, relatively small city full of pleasant people. I found it to be a virtual playground for tourists. If you can't keep yourself entertained here while on vacation then you should just stay home. I visited old ruins, white sand beaches, gold mines and a crocodile farm.
