This is a dragonfly who is a regular to the
garden. He prefers to perch on the exact blade of grass you see
him on in the picture. He's very cooperative with the pesky cameraman. |

This little guy has claimed our yard and turned
it into a personal battleground. He's a mockingbird who sits waiting
for our cat, Wellington to come out for a stroll. Then, the terror
of the skies swoops down and divebombs the poor cat, who is usually
just minding his own buisness! Wellington has become accustomed
to it and usually just ignores the bird. That is, until it acually
makes contact! That's when you see a cat running for it's life toward
the neighbor's yard. |

The regular to the back yard is a troublesome
squirrel who loves to eat from the birdfeeder. Unfortunately for
us, the only way for him to do this is to hang upside down from
the top of the birdfeeder and dig at the seeds . Needless to say,
his method makes him a very messy eater. But on the plus side, all
that seed on the ground feeds the local doves year round! He also
gives Axel something to chase when he's outside. Axel has yet to
even phase the brave squirrel! |

We've been forced to keep a mesh cover over
our pond now and then since we were paid a visit by a racoon. He
managed to uproot most of the water plants and scoop out a few fish.
Needless to say his dinner cost more than mine did! |

We get our
share of Grasshoppers around here. Here's a happy little guy hanging
out on a plant. |
