Number 56, 1935 MG PA one of
the "Dancing Daughters" 1935 Le Mans team cars. |
|
|
Number 24, MG NE Magnette. This
was the car that Nouvalri was supposed to drive in the 1934
Tourist Trophy race and he insisted it be painted not BRG
but Red which it was. However due to a conflict of sponsorship
he was not able to drive the car. It is now owned by Pete
Thelander and is used in Vintage racing. |

66 MG B is my own B and one
of three MG's in my collection at this time. |
|
|
This Y Saloon belonged to my
good friend the late Gerry Gougen. (founder of the Westminster
Vermont MG Museum and Abingdon Spares). I had the good fortune
to drive this car once and really enjoyed it very much. His
collection was amazing and a good many of my drawings were
taken from cars in that collection. |

This one is an MG R Type. It
is the former Doreen Evans (Bellvue Garages) car. It was restored
by Ralph Clark in S Africa over a twenty year period and is
probably one of the most painstaking restorations ever. It
has since been sold and returned to the UK. I understand that
at an upcoming auction it is expected to bring in the neighborhood
of 120,000 to 150,000 POUNDS. |

One of the three Dancing Daughters
PA Le Mans team cars. (Sister car to #56) It was purchased
from the factory by Sam Collier and brought to the US. He
had the custom aluminum body made for the car and took it
back to Le Mans but was DNF due to a fuel problem. The car
is now in the Collier Museum in FL. It was at Watkins Glen
for the 50th anniversary of the Collier Cup. |

|
This is the TC owned and raced
by Denver Cornett. He bought it new in 1947 and raced it in
the first ever race at Watkins Glen in 1948. He rolled it
over on the Old Stone Bridge turn and managed to get it up
righted and went on to take 7th place OA later in the day.
Fifty years later he was still racing the same car. They have
now both retired. |

|
An SA Saloon. I photographed
the car at the Hershey Motor Lodge in PA for my reference
and if you look closely you will see the reflection of the
lodge in the front fender. |

MG J2. |
|
|
A J4 that was owned and restored
by Gerry Gougen. It is the car that almost cost Gerry his
life at Watkins Glen. Taking a corner, we're not sure if it
was the speed or the high torque of the engine but the car
flipped and the photo of the car upside down immediately following
that showed it was resting on the cowl and no drivers head
could be seen. Luckily for Gerry the only injury that he had
was the loss of two fingertips that were caught between the
cowl and the road surface. |
|
|
A 1936 MG PB that belonged to
and was restored by a good friend here in Rochester. |
|
|
This K3 was the original Whitney
Straight car and later was bought by Miles Collier. It was
owned after that by Bob Herlin and then went back to the UK
and is now owned by Peter Green who is still vintage racing
it there. I photographed it when it was owned by Herliin and
did the drawing from that photo. I did the drawing with the
front shroud removed as I thought the supercharger was much
more interesting than the shroud. |

|
This is the MG A LBL 301 that
was one of the three Le Mans cars for the 1955 race. Actually
it was the back up car driven by Ted Lund and Hans Waffler.
Of the three cars, only two finished and this was the first
of the two to complete the race.
